UIW student veteran or active servicemembers are invited to share your personal success story and the best written essay will win 2 tickets, plus a parking pass for the Wednesday, October 10, 7:30p, pre-season Spurs game against the Atlanta Hawks, AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX courtesy of Mr Robert Rodriguez, Southwestern Capital Markets, Inc.,

What is My Story?

Since VA began paying Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits on August 1, 2009, we have helped students just like you achieve their educational goals. Through our My Story page, we are sharing the real life stories of Veterans and Servicemembers, and their personal experiences with the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Every My Story is different; yet they all share a common thread — creating a better future using the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

To enter:

  • Write down your personal success story, 250-500 words
  • Submit the essay to and the My Story page at
  • Deadline to enter is noon, Thursday, October 4th
  • Make sure to include your full name and contact information

Each participant’s essay will be reviewed by a panel and the winner will be notified Tuesday, October 9th.

Tribute Stole for Grads

UIW Veterans are honored during graduation with a Tribute stole. It is worn during the graduation ceremony and is provided free of charge. Contact us to receive your stole for commencement.
