Introducing My Story

Here at the University of the Incarnate Word, our student veterans and their families are an integral part of what makes our university a wonderful place to learn, live, and realize your dreams. We strive to best meet your needs and ensure your personal and academic success.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is asking students utilizing the Post 9-11 GI Bill to share their personal stories and how this new education benefit has changed their lives. Be sure to check this out and add your success story today!

Introducing My Story

As part of our National Outreach and Awareness Campaign, Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Education Service is now featuring its new series, My Story, on the GI Bill Website. Through this page we are sharing the real life stories of Veterans and Servicemembers, and their personal experiences with the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Every My Story is different. Yet they all share a common thread — creating a better future using the Post-9/11 GI Bill.  http://www.gibill.va.gov/my-story

What is "My Story"?

Since VA began paying Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits on August 1, 2009, we have helped students just like you achieve their educational goals. Through our My Story page, we are sharing the real life stories of Veterans and Servicemembers, and their personal experiences with the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Every My Story is different; yet they all share a common thread — creating a better future using the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

We invite you to read and watch the videos about these inspiring students. If you have a personal success story that you want to share on our My Story page please email us at post911.gibill.vbaco@va.gov. Make sure to include your full name, contact information and a few sentences about why you think you’d make a good candidate and why you would like to participate.
