A 27-year-old junior, University of the Incarnate Word offensive lineman Jason Everding is not your typical college football player.
After all, how many college teams in the country can boast of having a former U.S. Marine sergeant, with combat experience, on their roster?
"A lot of people have an affinity for our people in the military, and I'm one of them," UIW head football coach Larry Kennan said this week. "I thank them all the time. I've thanked Jason a couple of times for his service. He's tough, smart and doesn't get rattled.
